Get Shift Done: Tips and Tricks

Bland just doesn’t cut it when you’re trying to impress clients or the boss. Here’s how you can punch up the intensity in your Excel 365 spreadsheets with a simple tick of a box.

Excel 365 has a little-known high quality print mode. This mode makes graphics print bold and sharp so your spreadsheets look top-notch. This is particularly helpful if you’re presentation includes hi-res photos.

To set it up, go to File > Options > Advanced. Then, under the Print heading, tick the box for high quality mode for graphics. When you’re done, click OK.

Time to get specific. What difference does this mode really make? I tried a side-by-side comparison with and without the high quality mode. High quality mode seems to make the darks in graphics darker, colors more vibrant and the edges more crisp. Without choosing the high quality mode you are also left with thin lines throughout your image. It’s definitely worth the few seconds it takes to make the change.
